2019-2020 Registration and Tryout Information

NEWINGTON TRAVEL BASKETBALL (NTBA) TRYOUTS

(Boys in 4th-8th Grade) and (Girls in 5th8th Grade)

REGISTER ONLINE: Visit www.newingtontravelbasketball.com.

If you tried out last year, log in to the website using your username & password from last year (use Forgot if necessary) OR if you are new to NTBA, click Register. Once logged in, go to My Account page and click Register next to your child and select the appropriate program (Boys 4th-8th Grade) or (Girls 5th-8th Grade).

There is no cost to register for tryouts.

By registering online, you will get any last minute tryout information as well as date/time changes (if necessary).

If you cannot register online, there is a pre-registration form on the reverse side. Please complete form, sign,

and bring with you to the tryouts. *** Parent signature is necessary for a child to participate at tryouts ***

Locations: Mortensen Community Center Gymnasium, Garfield Street Entrance & Martin Kellogg Middle School

Tryout Schedule: (Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start times to sign in)

***Boys 5th-8th should attend at least 2 days of tryouts to provide our staff with ample opportunity to assess skills.
***Boys 4th should attend at least 1 day of tryouts to provide our staff with ample opportunity to assess skills.
***Girls should attend at least 1 day of tryouts to provide our staff with ample opportunity to assess skills.

*** Parents should plan on attending an information session at the beginning of the first tryout.***


The Travel Basketball season runs end-October through mid-March with 2 practices per week plus 2 games

every weekend. Games are played against towns in the greater Hartford area.

Players are expected to be at every game and practice. If you cannot make basketball your priority for this

duration, we STRONGLY recommend that you play in the Newington Parks and Recreation Program or another

program instead of our Travel program. In the P&R programs there are no tryouts and all kids are eligible play.
